Article 1 – Applicability
1.1 These general terms and conditions apply to all reservations, bookings, and stays by guests at Hotel L'ARTiste, located in Lessines.
1.2 By making a booking, the guest declares that they have read and agree to these general terms and conditions and the house rules of Hotel L'ARTiste.
1.3 These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time. The version applicable at the time of booking shall apply to the stay.
Article 2 – Reservations & rates
2.1 The rates and services offered by Hotel L'ARTiste are set by the management and published through the official channels (website, reservation systems, etc.).
2.2 Published rates are subject to availability and may be modified at any time.
2.3 Once a reservation has been confirmed, the net rates and conditions agreed upon at the time of booking remain applicable. Net rates do not include VAT or taxes. In case of a legal modification of VAT or taxes the surcharge will be reflected on the final invoice.
2.4 A reservation is only final after confirmation by Hotel L'ARTiste.
2.5 Check-in is possible between 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. After 6:30 p.m., guests can check in via our locker at the hotel entrance. Please notify the hotel in advance so that the necessary preparations can be made. In case of a no-show, the full amount will be charged.
Article 3 – Check-in and check-out
3.1 Check-in is possible from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. After 6:30 p.m., check-in is possible via the locker at the entrance.
3.2 Check-out must take place no later than 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
3.3 A surcharge may be applied for late check-out.
3.4 Upon check-in, each guest is required to present a valid ID and a valid credit card.
3.5 Persons under the age of 18 may only stay under the supervision of an adult or with the explicit prior approval of the reception desk.
Article 4 – Liability
4.1 Hotel L'ARTiste is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to guests' personal property.
4.2 The management and staff cannot be held liable for physical, material, or immaterial damage suffered during the stay.
4.3 Damage to hotel property, whether intentional or caused by negligence, will be charged to the guest.
Article 5 – Conduct & house rules
5.1 Guests are required to comply with the house rules of Hotel L'ARTiste.
5.2 Nuisance of any kind (e.g. noisy behavior, aggression, loud music) is prohibited.
5.3 Smoking is prohibited in the rooms or in the building. Violations will result in a fine of €150, as well as any costs incurred by the activation of the fire alarm.
5.4 It is not permitted to:
• Use emergency exits improperly;
• Use the room with more people than reserved for;
• Cover or disable fire alarms;
• Apply your own decorations such as confetti without permission;
• Light open flames (candles, incense) in the room.
Article 6 – Safety & supervision
6.1 In the event of a fire alarm, the building must be evacuated immediately.
6.2 The hotel is equipped with camera surveillance. Guests agree to the recording of images. These may serve as evidence in the event of an incident.
6.3 Employees may check bags if they suspect a violation. Refusal may result in immediate denial of access.
6.4 In the event of an emergency, all instructions from staff must be strictly followed.
Article 7 – Zero Tolerance
7.1 Hotel L'ARTiste has a zero tolerance policy.
7.2 Violation of house rules will result in immediate removal without refund of accommodation costs or deposit.
7.3 No warning is required for serious violations.
Article 8 – Pets
8.1 Only dogs are allowed in the rooms or restaurant of Hotel L'ARTiste. Please notify the hotel in advance. For all questions regarding pets, please contact the hotel.
Article 9 – Cancellation and no-show
9.1 Cancellation conditions are stated at the time of booking.
9.2 In case of a no-show, 100% of the total amount booked will be charged, including accommodation, breakfast, and any extras or services reserved.
9.3 Conditions may vary depending on the rate type (e.g., non-refundable rate).
Article 10 – Payment and deposit
10.1 All accommodation costs must be paid in full in advance or upon arrival at the latest.
10.2 The hotel may request a deposit via credit card pre-authorization or cash payment.
10.3 Additional costs (such as smoking fines, damage, extra cleaning, or late check-out) will be charged upon departure or via the deposit.
10.4 Access to the room may be refused in the event of refusal to pay or lack of a valid credit card.
Article 11 – Privacy and data processing
11.1 Hotel L'ARTiste processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
11.2 Personal data will only be used for reservations, communication, invoicing, and—if consent is given—marketing.
11.3 The data will not be provided to third parties unless required by law or necessary in the event of incidents.
11.4 The full privacy policy is available at reception or on request.
Article 12 – Force majeure
12.1 In the event of force majeure (such as pandemics, natural disasters, government measures, power failures, or strikes), Hotel L'ARTiste shall not be liable for the non-performance or partial performance of its obligations.
12.2 In such cases, the hotel may reschedule, modify, or cancel the reservation free of charge without being liable for compensation.
Article 13 – Complaints
13.1 Complaints must be reported to the reception desk as soon as possible so that a solution can be found.
13.2 Complaints that are only reported after departure can only be considered if they are submitted in writing within 7 days of departure.

Article 14 – Applicable law
14.1 These general terms and conditions and all disputes arising from them are governed by Belgian law.
14.2 Disputes will preferably be settled amicably. If necessary, they will be submitted to the competent court of the district of Hainaut.
